Plausible Causes of non-Platonic Persistence

ALenia glider persistent at low step size dt values Orbium persisting at low dt with clipping removed

* Kojima and Ikegami 2023 observed an Orbium glider losing stability at dt=0.002 with clipping applied, but stable at dt=0.002 without clipping (at the expense of instability at dt around 0.1).

* They found no examples of non-Platonic persistence in asymptotic Lenia (ALenia): “[…] asymptotic Lenia behaves continuously over time”.

Hypotheses:

1. Asymptotic Lenia does not display non-Platonism (no self-organizing patterns become unstable in finer simulation).

2. Clipping is necessary for non-Platonic persistence.
